TV Venting...

The TV show "The Bachelor" sucks. The whole concept of it, and after watching a glimpse of the end of this season's finale.... I lost whatever respect I had left, if there was any at all.

For those of you who don't know, "The Bachelor" is a reality show about a guy who is to choose one girl out of 25 in a course of 6 weeks. Each week, the bachelor gives out roses (ose ceremony) to the girls he wants to stick around so that he can get to know him.

Now... imagine 25 girls living under one roof, competing for one guy? Each week, all girls put on their dresses that are way to low up top and way too short on the bottom and stand in a group waiting for the bachelor to give them a rose. Of course, since this is TV, and the girls are desparate to get hitched with the guy, they talk bad about each other, make indecent advances towards the bachelor, just so they can come out the winner.

In season's past, their was always one girl who managed to capture the bachelor's heart. The season finale, usually consists of the bachelor picking one of two girls, and proposing to girl he choose.

This season, he said goodbye to one girl. Than he said goodbye to the other. Leaving viewers shocked.

Ok.... from my understanding, Brad Womack, (this season' bachelor) has told one of the women, DeAnna that she was everything that he wanted in a wife. DeAnna was confident she was going to get the final rose. But when the moment came to give her the final rose, Brad starting out saying, than quickly changed his mind, and said that he couldn't look her in the eye and tell her he loved her. Ouch.

In real time that was two and half months ago. Imagine living for two months, not being able to tell anyone what really happened, and wondering why you were led to believe that you were Brad's top choice, only to have the carpet pulled up from under you. Its kinda rough.

Last night, the wrap-up show was aired. Everyone knew what happened, and the two final girls were brought out to discuss how they felt. Than Brad came out and offered his lame explanation, "If I proposed, without feeling the same feelings, wouldn't that make me a jerk?"

The first girl, Jenni, he dumped, came out and for a greeting gave him a hug, and asked him the same question. She thought that if he didn't propose to her, than surely DeAnna would be living happily ever after. I thought of her as kinda lame, smiling up at him. No true anger. Than again, she didn't have much to be angry about.

DeAnna. She came out and faced Brad. They hugged though it was awkward. It was the first time that they saw each other. Poor girl wanted answers and she was rightfully angry and confused. Brad couldn't give her any credible explanation, other than something along the lines of, "Its not you; you're perfect. I'm screwed up." At this point I wanted DeAnna to walk away or slap him real good. She came out thinking that maybe there was another chance between them. She was willing to give a him a second shot. Man.... she walked away crying. Good for you DeAnna, its time to move on with your life.

The bottome line: This show sucks because it leads people on, and ultimately hurts them. And anyone who thinks they can find true love from a reality show, needs a reality check.
